Greeting

Aramid fiber with high strength, light weight and pliant superiority was originally developed by DuPont in 1965. It has been broadly used for industrial fields, such as tires and brake pads of vehicles, bulletproof vests and aerospace applications.

FIBEX placed a commercial target of aramid fiber on the use of reinforcement of concrete structures. Since it was used in the shape of braided rod (FiBRA Rod) as tension cables of PC bridge for the first time in 1990, it has been used for PC structures, such as floating bridges, girders, floor slabs and railway sleepers. And as reinforcement of concrete structures, instead of steel rebar, it has been also used for advanced research facilities which require non-magnetism and non-conductivity.

Moreover, since aramid sheets (FiBRA sheet) developed in 1992, were used for reinforcement of columns of a building, the widely use was increasing for repair and strengthening of chimneys, tunnels and also pillars, girders and slabs of highway bridges.

FIBEX is the pioneer of aramid fiber products for reinforcement of concrete structures.
